Eding sport of la Lekie have emerged winners of the 59th edition of the Cup of Cameroon. They defeat Lion Blessé de Foutouni, 1-0 in a match played this Sunday December 2, at the Yaounde Omnisport stadium.

The President of the Republic, Paul Biya was present at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium to cheer both teams.

Prior to the encounter, about 2700 students drown from all over the country staged a choreographic display to entertain the close to 45, 000 spectators who had stormed the Yaounde stadium to watch the finals.

The encounter began with both teams determined to emerge victorious. Eding Sport of La Lekie begins the match with a good footing, putting much pressure on Lion Blesse de Foutouni.

At the 13th minute, Mbala Onguene opened scores for Eding sport of la Lekie benefiting from a porous Lion Blessé defence.

At half time, both teams separated on a 1-0 score margin in favour of Eding sport de la Lekie.

At resumption, Eding sport de la Lekie came up much stronger and continued dominating the game with a good style of play. That payed off, as till the end of the game, the score remained unchanged.

The Finals of the Cup of Cameroon puts an official end to the 2017-2018 sports season in Cameroon.
