Members of the organisation committee of Be Your Own Star (BYOS) a students’ project in ASMAC, have met to discuss issues relating to the putting in place of the BYOS Magazine. Deliberations on the initiative, took place at the Information and Documentation 1 hall of ASMAC, on April 29.
This magazine which seeks to promote creative ideas in the fields of culture, arts, innovations among others, is the idea and creation of KOME Junior an Information and Documentation 1 student, peace journalist and also Chief Executive Officer of BYOS Media Group ltd.
During this meeting, which is the third, the members talked on key issues related to the magazine such as style, format, price per copy and editorial line.
They also talked on issues concerning the first edition of the magazine, and who will feature on the cover page.
Casting of models to feature on the cover page has been scheduled for Saturday May 4th 2019, at the esplanade of ASMAC’S administrative bloc.
With all these decided, provisions are being made for the release of the soft copy, and hardcopies will follow subsequently.
In addition to the BYOS Magazine, the Media group also has other projects in the pipeline which are the production of talk shows, and a web series.
The web series will be focused on short movies based on different societal aspects, with 2 episodes shot every week, and aired online.
The pilot episode was shot at the ASMAC campus on April 30th.
This episode which featured Miss MEH Glanis, of Advertising 1, MBALLA EFFA president of the students governing body ASEC, and KOME Junior will be aired in the days ahead.
As the production of more episodes are underway, he has called on interested members to be ready for casting calls in the days ahead.
