For a series of days now, third year students of Journalism and Publishing fields are undergoing training with officers from the International Advanced War College, ESIG, on interview techniques for the 2020 session.
One can consider it to be baptism by fire, but it is just a simulation of what they will have to confront in the professional world.
The Hervé Bourges amphitheatre harbours this exercise, slated for three days; 13th, 14th and 16th January.
Equipment installed, studios set, both parties are on track to practice the lecture they got on January 13, from Pr. Laurent Charles BOYOMO ASSALA, director of ASMAC.
Having as supervisors Pr. Marie Marcelle MPESSA MOUANGUE and Mr Alain MOUANGUE, the ASMAC students are put in groups of two to interview an officer on two different platforms, the radio and the television.
Objective of this exercise
As final year degree students in communication, they ought to master and practice interview techniques so that the main message can be transmitted.
On the part of the students, they need to be able to extract enough information from the interviewee, as well as guiding him to stay in track of his message, while on the part of the officers, they ought to control their mannerism, and maintain the pace without losing track of what they are saying.
The next phase of this exercise is programmed for next week, where the ASMAC students will rather be welcomed on the ESIG campus for the same activity.
It is worth noting that this exercise is a professional one which will undergo evaluations.
