The resit for the first semester exam session at the Advanced School of Mass Communication, is underway with cases of malpractices recorded already.
The exam which serves as a last chance given to students who didn’t perform well in in the regular exam session, started on Tuesday April 16 to run till Saturday April 20.
It should be noted that the timetable for this catchup exam, was only published a few hours to its start.
The schedule was made public at 11am of Tuesday April 16 for the exam to start at 2pm of the same day.
This came as a surprise as many were unprepared and thought the exam was to be postponed because it is the Passion Week and so many Christian activities take place during this week.
Some students who are therefore very desperate and ready to do whatever it takes to succeed, devised criminal measures to perform well.
These students who didn’t prepare well, get to indulge in such acts because they know it is the last chance they have to pass or come back for the course the following school year.
In one of the exam halls, Block C of the ASMAC school campus, a student was caught with pre-prepared material.
This student was so timid and couldn’t help controlling her behaviour. She became violent, erratic and aggressive.
This drew the attention of other invigilators who rushed to see what was wrong.
Other students who sat in for the exams in the same hall with this culprit testified that she had a piece of paper in her possession from which she copied information to her answer sheet.
The student was then dragged to the Assistant Director of ASMAC in charge of studies, where she was asked to justify her reason for taking such an action.
The Assistant Director popularly called La DACE is still to pass her verdict and students are curiously waiting on whatever action is to be taken.
