Cameroon’s President elect Paul Biya has signed a decree, reorganizing the Cameroon General Certificate of Education (CGCE) Board.
According to the decree no 2014/541 of 22 October 2018, the Anglo-Saxon examination institution shall henceforth be headed by a board made up of representatives from several administrative institutions.
The decree equally states that the board is now an administrative public establishment, endowed with a legal personality and financial autonomy.J
Going by the decree, the general purpose of the board shall be the organization of examinations such as the GCE ordinary level, GCE Advanced level as well as technical and vocational education and professional certificate examinations.
Chapter two of the decree states that the board shall be managed by both board directives and the registry, all appointed by the president of the republic.
Part of the decree further states that all previous provisions of the board are thereby repealed by the decree.
