The Cameroonian movie produced by Kang Quintus was announced to be acquired by the subscription-based streaming service; Netflix.
Officially revealed on March 1st 2021, by the front-line star of the movie Kang Quintus on the social media Instagram, “The Fisherman’s diary” has been obtained by the most trending and demanded American production company; Netflix.
Indeed, after being selected for the 93rd Oscars even though not victorious, the movie conquered once more the production company. The Cameroonian movie actually knows how to make news around the world. Last year, the movie was one of the most successful Cameroonian movies having awards nationally and internationally.
The movie received many awards at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in Nigeria and the Golden Movie Awards in Ghana.With this other success, the producer is extremely pleased and sees it as a new opportunity.
“We are happy to have made history with this film. For us, aside from being a good reward for hard work, this deal grants the opportunity for our content to reach a global audience. Hopefully, this would be the first amongst many, not just for me and the team, but for other Cameroonian filmmakers,”, said in a press release byKangQuintus.
