The university of Yaoundé 2 and the university of Lyon 2, on April 25th signed an educational partnership convention between both universities at the Advanced School of Mass Communication.
The conference started at 11am, as representatives from both universities gathered at the Herve Bourges amphitheatre at ASMAC.
A welcome speech was given by the Director of ASMAC Pr. Laurent C. B. ASSALA, followed by a brief portrait of the university of Yaoundé 2, its faculties and schools, by Pr. MOL NANG representative of the rector of the Yaoundé 2.
Pr. MOL continued by highlighting qualities of Yaoundé 2 such as its reputation and high level of competition, which makes it a leading Cameroonian and African university.
He stressed on the fact that this partnership will greatly benefit both institutions as they will have both cultural and educational exchanges.
The vice president of the University of Lyon 2 James Walker, had a few words as well.

He presented the university of Lyon 2 as a reputable institution with over 9000 students, from different races and ethnicities.
On the educational aspect, the university has several faculties, both in the arts and sciences.
He further highlighted that under the convention, both institutions will have no obligations towards one another, for it is a means to enable their students have different study experiences.
He concluded by talking about a Masters program already underway, as a result of the convention, which will enable students from both institutions study at home and abroad.
This program scheduled to begin in October 2019 will be on social sciences.
The convention was signed by the representative of Yaoundé 2 Pr. MOL NANG, and James Walker vice president of University of Lyon 2, in the presence of students, and staff of the institutions.
